NUR 3165 Nursing Research Guide

Welcome to Nursing Research.  This Research Guide has been developed specifically to support learning to navigate UCF Libraries online resources, including accessing full-text eBooks, databases, and online journal articles in the subject area of nursing research. This guide also offers practice exercises to help you prepare for the Library Quiz in this class.

If you have any questions, please contact the embedded librarian in your class (if you scroll down this page, all of us are listed to the left, including our email contact information) or use Ask Us at library.ucf.edu/ask.

Nursing Research: Getting Connected

Everything you will need to complete your library research assignments for this class are available to you online through UCF Libraries.  These resources include approximately 325 databases, 24,000 online journals and more than 590,000 electronic books. Don't worry, you won't need all of them for this class!  Use of these resources is restricted to currently registered students; therefore, access from off-campus requires authentication.

The easiest method of remote access is to use your NID and NID password to log in from the UCF Library Articles and Databases page. Simply click on the database you want to search, such as CINAHL, then log in with your NID and NID password when prompted. Once you are logged-in, you can search other databases as well.  After several minutes of inactivity, your access will expire; simply log-in again.

If you encounter problems with access, contact your course librarian or the UCF Ask Us service.

You may also phone UCF Ask Us at (407) 823-2562 or toll free at (866) 271-7589.
