The essential reference to the British aristocracy. It contains the genealogical details of every British duke, marquess, viscount, earl, baron, and baronet, together with all the living members of their families in the male line.

Offers concise biographies written by subject specialists on over 58,000 individuals "who have shaped British history and culture, worldwide, from the Romans to the twenty-first century." Brief bibliographies appended to virtually all entries. Black-and-white portraits accompany about 10,000 entries.
