APA Style Guide

Web Pages

General format:

Author, A. A. (Date). Webpage title [Document type, if other than a standard website]. URL

Web sites often do not include as much information as called for in the APA guidelines. In such cases, always include as much information as possible and follow APA guidelines as closely as possible. You should talk to your professors about how they would like you to apply APA guidelines for Web documents in a course.

Note: Many web pages do not provide as much information as the style calls for. In these cases, follow the general guidelines as closely as possible. If the information on a webpage is undated, include the retrieval date. Entire websites are NOT cited in the Reference List, but are cited within the text of the paper.
