This width for a left column may be useful if you have slightly longer items in a list and don't want them to wrap to the next line for every entry.
Example:
- Short item
- Longer item #1 in the list doesn't wrap
- Longer item #2 in the list doesn't wrap
- Much longer items will still wrap to the next line, but that looks OK if it is just an occasional item in the list
- Longer item #3 in the list doesn't wrap
