Geocorr 2018: Geographic Correspondence Engine

Revised 12/04/2018 with 2016 geographies

This application accesses the MABLE geographic database to generate custom correlation lists as reports and/or files. Click on the help icons (help) for detailed info on any section of this form.

Note: Two county name/code changes in 2015 will affect results from AK and SD. See the usage notes for more information. Processing time may be several minutes for large areas or multiple states. Processing time may be greatly reduced by deselecting the HTML report in the output options.

Input Options

(ctl-click to select multiple)

* If you chose census block, you may not choose more than 13 states.

** If you chose "Concentric Ring Pseudo-Geocode" from either list, you must specify either Point and Distance or Ring Geocode options below.

See the geographic glossary for descriptions of the source and target geocodes used here.

Population (2010 census)

Population (2016 est.) Note: This estimate is based on county-level growth factors and is unreliable for small subcounty geographies.

Housing units (2010 census)

Population age 65+ (2010 census)

Population (2000 census)

Geographic Filtering Options

Use these options to limit the geographic universe to any or all of three types of geography, using FIPS codes. If you need to look up the codes, follow the links to the code-list files in each section, or use the geographic codes lookup web app.

AND (intersection)

OR (union)

Enter five-digit FIPS county codes with leading zeroes separated by blanks. You may enter three-digit codes if you selected only one state, above.

Enter five-digit CBSA codes, or use the special value "-99999" to select only those places which are outside any metro or micropolitan area.

Enter seven-digit FIPS place codes with leading zeroes separated by blanks. You may enter five-digit codes if you selected only one state, above.

Point and Distance Options

Use these options to define one or more rings around a central point to be used as geographic filter(s).

° N latitude

° W longitude

Use Google Maps to get latitude/longitude coordinates. Or, see CAPS usage notes for links to alternative web sites where you can enter an address and get coordinates.

miles or kilometers

Number of equidistant concentric rings:

Or, specify custom ring radii in ascending order. The largest radius should equal the largest ring radius as specified above:

A ring will identified on output files by its outer radius. E.g., a ring of 4 to 8 miles will have code "8".

Bounding Box Filter Options

To limit processing to blocks with center points that fall in a specified rectangular area, enter the coordinates for the bounding box here.

Northernmost latitude: ° N

Southernmost latitude: ° N

Westernmost longitude: ° W

Easternmost longitude: ° W
