Dr. Cameron Ford

 

Dr. Cameron Ford is an Associate Professor of Management at the University of Central Florida (UCF) and the Founding Director of UCF’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL). He established academic classes and degree programs, experiential learning opportunities, startup competitions and showcases, a student venture accelerator, and several free student startup services such as the Blackstone LaunchPad powered by TechStars. Cameron’s research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of creativity and entrepreneurship. His prior research describes how novel ideas evolve, gain legitimacy, and attract resources during the new venture emergence process. His research has appeared in over 60 academic papers and has been cited over 4000 times. Cameron earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University, and worked at the Graduate School of Management at Rutgers University prior to joining UCF.

 

Dr. Robin Phelps

 

Dr. Robin Phelps is the Associate Director of the UCF Venture Lab. She is also an instructor in the UCF I-Corps program.  She has more than two decades of experience as a founder and executive at technology startups.  To date, she has mentored and coached hundreds of early-stage entrepreneurs in Lean Startup and business strategy.

 

 

 

Mr. Steven South

 

Mr. Steve South is the Assistant Director/PTAC Manager at the Florida SBDC at the University of Central Florida. 

The Florida PTAC at UCF supports small businesses throughout Central Florida including Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter, and Volusia counties.  Each year the Florida PTAC at UCF team works with over 300 small business government contractors. Steve has worked with the Florida PTAC since 2014. 

Steve spent the first half of his career working in the supply chain management and logistics industry.  He earned his undergraduate degree in marketing from Duquesne University and his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.  Steve is also a Certified Procurement Professional (APTAC), Certified Business Analyst (SBDC), a Certified Business Coach (PBCA), and a Certified CVE Counselor (Veteran’s Administration).
