Access to UCF's Government Documents - June-September 2018

Temporary Lack of Direct Access

Due to construction activities the Government Documents Collections in the John C. Hitt Library are temporarily not available for direct access by the public. Most materials can be retrieved by library staff upon request, but please contact our Ask A Librarian service ahead of time to verify availability of specific items.

Some print volumes unavailable

About 40% of the print volumes are temporarily stored off-site and are completely inaccessible until the return of those volumes to the main library in September. The following list identifies the specific SuDoc call numbers stored off-site:

  • C 3.950-9:v.1/pt.10 through D 101.22:550-98/994
  • ED 1.41:990-94/Chinese through FE 1.14:974/8

  • J 2824/3:v.66/3 through MS 1.1:982

Alternate access

Although some of the print items are not available, the UCF Libraries may have the same publications available on microfiche or online. Contact Ask A Librarian for assistance in locating alternate sources at UCF.

If the information is not currently available at UCF our staff will assist you in locating it through another library such as the University of Florida in Gainesville or the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Reference on 2nd floor

The Government Documents Reference publications are temporarily housed on the last set of shelves of the Reference Collection in the Knowledge Commons. The print volumes of the index (1789+) to the Congressional Record (including predecessor titles) are also temporarily shelved with the Reference Collection. The Library of Congress Classification Schedule volumes are shelved in Ready Reference behind the research assistance & information desk (RAID).
