The volume number which appears at the end of the Notes field can be used as a keyword to limit the results to a portion of the year (1914-1956 quarterly; 1957-1971 bimonthly; 1972-1976 quarterly) when searching the Index to the Times, 1906-1980. 

For example, using the year "1966" and the keyword "350" along with other subject terms would limit most of the results to those from March and April 1966.

• 349 = January & February
• 350 = March & April
• 351 = May & June
• 352 = July & August
• 353 = September & October
• 354 = November & December

You can also limit to a specific date or 10-day range of dates by searching the date as an 8-digit keyword or truncated keyword, e.g.,

• 19660325 = March 25, 1966
• 1966032* = March 20-29, 1966
• 1966030* = March 1-9, 1966
• 196603* = March 1-31, 1966
