WELCOME
Welcome to the University of Central Florida (UCF)’s Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) Exhibit! This exhibit features UCF’s journey to becoming an HSI and our collective achievement in being certified with the Seal of Excelencia. UCF proudly serves almost 20,000 Hispanic/Latino/a/x students and was frst federally designated an HSI in January 2019 by the U.S. Department of Education. This federal designation recognizes colleges and universities who meet or exceed an enrollment threshold of Hispanic/Latino students and Pell-eligible students across racial/ethnic groups. As an HSI, UCF is eligible to compete for additional federal and foundation funds to support student success, research, and institutional capacity overall. Currently, there are 559 HSIs in the United States and UCF is one of only 23 HSIs certified with the Seal of Excelencia for serving Latino/a/x students with intentionality through meaningful alignment in data, practice, and leadership. BIENVENIDOS
¡Bienvenidos a la exhibición de la Institución de Servicio a los Hispanos (HSI) (siglas en inglés) de University of Central Florida! Esta exhibición, presenta el trayecto de UCF (siglas en inglés), para convertirse en una institución con servicio a los hispanos, HSI (siglas en inglés); Asimismo, nuestro logro colectivo al obtener la certificación con el Sello de Excelencia. UCF (siglas en inglés), se enorgullece de servir a casi 20,000 estudiantes hispanos/latinos/a/x; por tal razón, fue designada por primera vez (a nivel federal), en enero de 2019 por el Departamento de Educación de los Estados Unidos, como una institución de servicio a los hispanos, HSI (siglas en inglés). Esta designación federal reconoce a las instituciones y universidades, las cuales cumplen con o exceden el límite de inscripción de estudiantes hispanos/latinos, y de estudiantes elegibles para las becas “Pell”, de todos los grupos raciales/étnicos. Como una institución con servicio a los hispanos, HSI (siglas en inglés), University of Central Florida, es elegible para competir en programas federales y fondos de la fundación, lo cual sirve para respaldar el éxito de los estudiantes, la investigación y la capacidad institucional en general. Actualmente existen 559 instituciones con servicio a los hispanos, HSI (siglas en inglés) en los Estados Unidos, y University of Central Florida, es una de las 23 instituciones HSI (siglas en inglés), certificadas con el Sello de Excelencia, por ofrecer sus servicios a los estudiantes latinos/a/x, con intencionalidad y a través de una alineación significativa en los datos, práctica y liderazgo.
