UCF Libraries Information for Legacy Pointe Residents

Books, E-Books, Multimedia, and Databases

Unfortunately, alas, there are certain restrictions for Legacy Pointe residents to access print books, e-books, multimedia, and databases:
  • Remote access to the UCF Libraries' e-books, databases, and other online resources (with the exception of Primo, the Libraries' catalog) is restricted to current UCF students, faculty, and staff per the Libraries' licensing agreements with online vendors. Please note that approximately 90 percent of the Libraries’ journals are available online only.
  • Interlibrary loan and document delivery is restricted to current UCF students, faculty, and staff.
  • Legacy Pointe residents must come to the Hitt Library to check out print books, with a lending period of three weeks and one three-week renewal. In order to check out up to ten books, residents must purchase a Community Special Borrowers card: six month's privileges for $30 or one year for $60. Payment must be made by credit card or check at the John C. Hitt Library.
  • Legacy Pointe residents may access the Libraries’ databases and other online resources, but they must come to the Hitt Library. Once at Hitt, residents must obtain:
    • A guest password at the LibTech Desk to login to the Libraries’ computers;
    • Another password at the LibTech Desk to login to the databases and other online resources, such as e-books; and
    • These aforementioned passwords change daily.
