National Novel Writing Month at UCF

What is NaNoWriMo?

National Novel Writing Month logo

National Novel Writing Month, also known as NaNoWriMo for short, began in 1999. It runs from November 1 through November 30 every year. The goal is to write a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 pm on the last day on November.

NaNoWriMo is open to anyone. It doesn't matter if you are young or old, what language you speak, or where you live. If you want to try to write a novel, you can!

Visit NaNoWriMo.org to create your profile. You can upload your writing as the month goes on to track the official word count, and even have a publicly available short synopsis and excerpt.
