Use the Library catalog (the Books/Catalog link on the Libraries homepage) to locate books and other media in the UCF Libraries. You can search by author, title, keyword, or subject.

Spanish Literature (in America) = PQ 7070-7500 (reference on 2nd flr; general on 4th flr.)

American Literature (by Hispanics) = PS 153 (reference on 2nd flr; general on 4th flr.)

• To search for a person, as AUTHOR or SUBJECT, search by last name, first name without punctuation; for example:
  • Campbell Joseph
  • Kroeber A L
  • Levi-Strauss Claude
• SUBJECT searching requires use of Library of Congress subject headings. Here are some example subject headings:
  • Hispanic American Literature (Cuban American Literature, etc.)
  • American Literature -- Puerto Rican Authors (Hispanics American Authors, etc.)
  • Spanish Literature -- United States
• Note that the term "Latinos" is not a Library of Congress Subject Heading -- Une "Hispanic Americans," "Cuban Americans," etc.

• If you are unsure of the exact title or unsure of the correct Library of Congress subject heading, try a KEYWORD search using two or three of the most significant words from the title or subject you are trying to find.

WorldCat is a catalog of library collections from the U.S. and around the world. WorldCat is a useful tool for tracking down items (Books, articles, media, etc.) that are not owned by UCF… most of the items found here can then be obtained through Inter Library Loan requests.
