The easiest method of remote access is to use your NID and NID password to log in from the UCF Library Articles and Databases page. Simply click on the database you want to search, then when a box like the one to the left appears, log in with your NID and NID password (the same log-in you use to access Webcourses). Once you are logged-in, you can move to other databases. After several minutes of inactivity, your access may expire; when that happens, simply log-in again.
If you encounter problems with access, contact your course librarian, Peggy Nuhn either through Webcourses email, or at Peggy.Nuhn@ucf.edu. UCF's UCF Ask Us service is an additional resource with extended hours. You may phone UCF Ask Us at (407) 823-2562 or toll free at (866) 271-7589.
Since this class is entirely online, you may find eBooks particularly useful. eBooks are searchable through the UCF Libraries Primo Discovery Tool, using your NID and NID password, as described above. You can search by title, if you have that information, but most of the time we do not have specific titles, so we are searching for book titles using keywords.
The following video provides a great explanation of searching for a book using keywords - in this example, "second language learners".
