Shubert Theatres

"When the Shubert brothers obtained a lease on the Herald Square Theatre in 1900, they began their operations in New York City. By the 1920s, they owned, operated, managed or booked over 1,000 theatres nationwide. Today, the Shubert Organization owns seventeen Broadway theatres in New York City, as well as the Shubert Theatre in Boston, the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia, and manages the National Theatre in Washington, DC. In addition, the Shubert Organization recently completed construction on a state-of-the-art Off Broadway theatre, the Little Shubert Theatre."
