New UCF Integrated Library System -- Primo

This guide includes information about the new next-generation Integrated Library System which is active for the UCF Libraries as of July 13, 2021.

Many existing links will break

  • Existing links to books, videos, and journal titles need to be updated to the new system, including:
    • Library Catalog links
    • QuickSearch links
    • Canvas links created using the EBSCO tool
  • July 13, 2021 -- Primo becomes the active system.
    • Many new links will not become available until July 13th
    • Old links will no longer provide current status after July 9th and will break in September.
    • Your subject librarian can identify which links can be updated prior to July 13th
  • Don't rely on the Canvas link checker to catch the broken links. If you are creating a new course for the fall semester using the Canvas tool to migrate content from a previous semester, the link checker won't detect the problems because the links will not break until the end of September.

Contact Subject Librarian

Contact your subject librarian as soon as possible so that we can begin the process of updating links.

Inventory all of the links you have in your syllabi and Canvas course pages so that we can identify which links will need to be updated.

Some examples of the types of links which need to be updated are those which include the following strings within the URLs:

  • ...https://ucf.catalog.fcla.edu/...
  • ...https://eds.b.ebscohost.com/...
  • ...https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=edspub&site=pfi-live&scope=site...
  • ...https://login.ezproxy.library.ucf.edu/...

This is not a comprehensive list of examples. If you send us lists of all the library resources to which you are linking then we will review them all to determine which ones need to be updated.

Fixing Links

You can contact your subject librarian for assistance in fixing links. This "Fixing Links" pdf provides some specific examples for various databases.

Course Reserves

Course reserves for the summer 2021 terms will still be available. If the term continues past July 13th you and your students should have access in the new system with minimal interruption. Our library staff will update the information in the new library system on July 13th.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loan and Document Delivery will continue to be processed at UCF.  There may be some delivery delays during the statewide transition to the new system, May 1st through July 13th.  All are encouraged to return overdue books before July 13th
