- Reviewed spreadsheet of institutions and their DEI positions, statements etc
- Kristine will add more universities, Glen will research dei positioning, Amanda will assess for commonalities
- Goal is to use this information to create a "DIY DEI" strategic planning resource for ASERL institutions .
- Agreed to move meetings to Tuesdays at 11am. Next meeting is Tuesday June 8, 2021.

We discussed where we are in our work. We agreed we are headed in a good direction:
A) Amanda will set aside time on Friday, June 11 to run data through Envivo to capture
- What and how words are used?
- How many times are words or phrases used?
- Compare and analyze what this information means.
- Take documents web pages word docs and code them
- good for analyzing interviews/hiring practices etc
B) Glen will choose a small sample of institutions to do a deeper dive. He will:
1. Review Annual Reports - Who is doing what?
- Find their printed goals to see if they have succeeded or are making progress in DEI initiatives.
- How far along are they in relation to their stated goals: compare dates of plans and achievements.
- Do they acknowledge the difficulty of engaging in DEI work the / challenge or backlash that may occur?
2. Asses how easy it is to find information on DEI initiatives
- How many clicks to find “x” DEI doc/statement?
- Most recent - what they are currently advertising in regards to DEI?
3. Institutions for emulation – Who is doing it best?
- Recommendations of institutions who show exemplary DEI initiative strategies
- Can look at institutions that are comparable to UCF (personal interest)
- Will limit number of institutions to 10 or less
