One area where librarians can be most helpful is in creating guides tailored to specific courses and assignments. These guides typically compile library resources, including databases, books, reference works, primary sources, style guides, citation management tools, and other resources. Canvas modules are an alternative to course guides that can guide students through important library resources such as key databases in their field or that focus on research skills such as creating and refining a research question, evaluating resources, and using effective keywords.
Both the course guides and modules are effective ways to incorporate elements of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy, which we will discuss in more detail below.
