An Overview of OA Organizations

There are many global organizations dedicated to promoting equity through free and Open Access to information. We have compiled a list of key organizations here including the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), the Harvard Open Access Project, and Open Access Week, and more.

Coalition of Open Access Policy Institutions (COAPI)

Coalition of Open Access Policy Institutions (COAPI):
Brings together representatives from North American universities, colleges, and research institutions with established faculty open access policies and those in the process of developing such policies.

Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

An organization committed to educate and support editors, publishers and those involved in publication ethics with the aim of moving the culture of publishing towards one where ethical practices become a normal part of the publishing culture.

Harvard Open Access Project

Harvard Open Access Project
HOAP launched in 2011 to foster open access (OA) within Harvard, foster OA beyond Harvard, undertake research and policy analysis on OA, and provide OA to timely and accurate information about OA itself. (Includes good intro video).
