Pennsylvania newspapers -- Pennsylvania Civil War Era Collection (1831-1880)

Pennsylvania Civil War Era Collection "contain all the words, photographs, and advertisements from selected newspapers published during the pivotal years before, during, and after the U.S. Civil War.  Newspapers played a prominent role in the conflict.  They helped mobilize public opinion for, or against, the war, relayed battlefield developments to their readers, and documented political life on the homefront.  Beyond military or political concerns there is much on cultural topics including travel, arts and leisure, sports and contests, and local social events."

Kentucky newspapers -- Northern Kentucky Newspaper Index (1835-1933)

Northern Kentucky Newspaper Index -- "The Kenton County Public Library Newspaper Index covers the years 1835-1933 and 1982-Present. Our staff is working diligently to fill-in the remaining years. In addition to the Kentucky Enquirer and the Kentucky Post, many other smaller Northern Kentucky newspapers are also indexed including, but not limited to: Daily Commonwealth, Covington Journal, Sunday Challenger, Newport Local, Kentucky State Journal, Ticket. Currently, it is only older papers that are full text, but we are working on adding more all the time."

Brooklyn Daily Eagle Online (1841-1902) -- "The Brooklyn Daily Eagle was published from 1841 to 1955, then revived for a short time from 1960 to 1963. Because of the enormity of the collection, the digitization of the historic Brooklyn Daily Eagle newspaper from reels of microfilm has been broken down into more than one phase. Phase I, which can at present be found on this site, covers the period from October 26, 1841 to December 31, 1902, representing half of the Eagle's years of publication."

California Digital Newspaper Collection (1849-1911)

"The California Digital Newspaper Collection offers over 200,000 pages of California newspapers spanning the years 1849-191l: the Alta California, 1849-1891; the San Francisco Call, 1893-1910; the Amador Ledger, 1900-1911; the Imperial Valley Press, 1901-1911; the Sacramento Record-Union, 1859-1890; and the Los Angeles Herald, 1905-1907. Additional years are forthcoming, as are other early California newspapers: the Californian; the California Star; the California Star and Californian; the Sacramento Transcript; the Placer Times; and the Pacific Rural Press."
