The Gale Virtual Reference Library provides you with a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. You can search a single reference electronic book (or eBook) or across an entire eBook collection.
Searches can be limited by publication title and date, subject, target audience, and availability of images. You can limit your search to certain publication titles by clicking on Browse Publication Title. Select up to 10 individual titles, then click "Submit" to add them to your search. Alternatively, from the Basic Search page, you may choose to browse a specific eBook publication in its entirety. To see the complete list of titles contained in this collection, click on the Title List link found on the Toolbar.
Use the Boolean search operators AND, OR, or NOT to improve your search. Remember: AND is used to locate articles with all of your search terms and is used to narrow a search. OR is used to locate articles with any of your search terms and is used to broaden a search. NOT is used to eliminate a search term and is used to narrow a search.
Use the * symbol to truncate your search terms. For example: truncating the search term "educat*" will search the terms educate, educator, education, educates, and any other ending of the word.
Click on the Help link found on the Toolbar at the top of every page.
