  • Top Giving Florida Foundations - A curated list of the top 40 foundations in Florida that regularly issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and have an interest in receiving grant applications across various sectors.

Funding Programs

The following funding opportunities are offered by the State of Florida or are limited to Florida-based research. These programs are intended to support faculty researchers across diverse disciplines.

 

Arts, Culture & Humanities

  • Florida Division of Cultural Affairs
    Florida’s state arts agency offers grants supporting arts education, local arts agencies, theatre, dance, folk arts, literature, media arts, and multidisciplinary programs. Funding cycles and deadlines vary by program.


Education & Workforce Development


Environment, Natural Resources & Agriculture

  • Florida Sea Grant – Supports research, education, and outreach on coastal and ocean issues in Florida. Cycle: Biennial; next full proposal cycle expected 2026, small grants may be available sooner.

  • Florida Department of Environmental Protection – Funding Opportunities – Environmental grants for water quality, Everglades and springs restoration, alternative water supply, and harmful algal bloom research. Cycle: Rolling deadlines by program area.
