Florida Division of Cultural Affairs
Florida’s state arts agency offers grants supporting arts education, local arts agencies, theatre, dance, folk arts, literature, media arts, and multidisciplinary programs. Funding cycles and deadlines vary by program.
Education & Workforce Development
Florida Department of Education – Office of Grants Management
Oversees grants management, training, and development for education-related programs statewide. Provides resources and information for grant seekers focused on education and workforce development.
Environment, Natural Resources & Agriculture
Florida Sea Grant – Supports research, education, and outreach on coastal and ocean issues in Florida. Cycle: Biennial; next full proposal cycle expected 2026, small grants may be available sooner.
Florida Department of Environmental Protection – Funding Opportunities – Environmental grants for water quality, Everglades and springs restoration, alternative water supply, and harmful algal bloom research. Cycle: Rolling deadlines by program area.
Health & Biomedical Research
Florida Department of Health – Biomedical Research Programs – Includes the Bankhead-Coley Cancer Research Program, Live Like Bella Childhood Cancer Research Program, and James and Esther King Biomedical Research Program. Cycle: Annual; FOAs typically released in late summer/early fall.
Florida Breast Cancer Foundation Scientific Research Grants – Up to $100,000 for one year, exclusively for research conducted in Florida. Cycle: Annual; RFPs generally released in spring.
History, Humanities & Culture
Florida Department of State – Division of Historical Resources Grants – Matching and special category grants for archaeological research, preservation projects, and museum exhibits. Cycle: Annual; applications usually due spring for funding the following fiscal year.
Florida Department of State – State Archives Research Stipend Program – Supports scholarly research using the State Archives and State Library collections. Cycle: Annual; applications typically due in late winter.
