The Census Bureau's Company Statistics Division (CSD) provides data for six major statistical programs:

Survey of Business Owners

Survey of Business Owners (part of the Economic Census) "provides the only comprehensive, regularly collected source of information on U.S. business owners by gender, Hispanic or Latino origin, and race."

Economic Census of Puerto Rico & the Island Areas

Economic Census of Island Areas "provides periodic and comprehensive data for economic activity and structure for Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands (NMI) and American Samoa."

Online version (1992+)
2007 Puerto Rico data is scheduled for release February-December 2010

Annual Capital Expenditures Survey (ACES) (1994)
"The Annual Capital Expenditures Survey (ACES) provides data on capital spending for new and used structures and equipment by U.S. nonfarm businesses with and without employees."

Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Survey

Information & Communication Technology Survey (ICTS) (2003+)
"Supplemental to the current Annual Capital Expenditure Survey (ACES), the Information and Communication Technology Survey (ICTS) collects data on non-capitalized and capitalized business spending for information and communication technology (ICT) equipment and computer software."

"To operate within funding levels provided for FY 2015 and FY 2016, the Census Bureau decided to suspend the 2014 and 2015 ICTS. For the FY 2017 budget, however, we propose reinstituting the ICTS for the 2016 data collection period."

Quarterly Financial Report (QFR)

Quarterly Financial Report (QFR) "presents up-to-date aggregate statistics on the financial position of U.S. corporations. Based upon an extensive sample survey, the report presents estimated statements of income and retained earnings, balance sheets, and related financial and operating ratios for the domestic operations of all manufacturing corporations with assets over $250,000, and corporations in the mining and trade areas with assets over $50 million. Data are classified by industry and by asset size."

Statistics of U.S. Businesses (SUSB)

Statistics of U.S. Businesses (SUSB) "provides business performance data by enterprise size, geographic area, and industry. These data cover most of the country's economic activity for U.S. paid employer firms and can be used to derive statistics on small businesses."
