Cite It! FAQs

What is the Cite it! tool?

The Cite it! tool allows you to add webpages to your Leganto list.

How do I get the Cite it! tool?

Installing the Cite it! tool is very easy. All you need to do is click on Settings at the top right from anywhere in Leganto. Choose Cite it! Drag the Cite it! button up to your bookmark bar. You’re now ready to use Cite it!

How do I use Cite it!?

Navigate to a website you want to add to Leganto. There, click on your Cite it! tool in the bookmarks bar. A pop-up box will appear with all the necessary metadata for that site. You can edit this if you like. You can add the item to your favorites or a particular list. If you choose the list, select the list name and section you want that item in.

When I click the Cite it button, why am I taken to a page saying “Login using:?”

You must be logged in to Leganto to use Cite it! It will not work if you haven’t already gone to your Leganto page in Canvas first.

I tried to use Cite it, but it didn’t work. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure that 3rd party cookies are enabled on your browser. If so, some web pages can’t be read by the Cite it! tool. If this happens, create a record manually. (Make sure you include the URL of the source.)
