Affordability FAQs

How does Leganto help students with affordability?

Using Leganto, UCF faculty members are able to find library sources that students can use for free. In doing so, this allows the opportunity for their classes to be labeled as "ZTC."

What is ZTC?

Zero Textbook Cost. There are ZTC indicators used on the Search Results list where students register for classes and informs them that there are no textbook costs required with that course. ZTC courses are permitted to use library resources or other high-quality, freely available resources provided there are zero costs for the students' access and use of these resources. Allowing for faculty to source free educational resources easily and integrate them quickly will be pivotal in UCF providing additional ZTC courses.

How else does Leganto help?

Leganto plays a key role in the university’s Affordable Instructional Materials (AIM) Initiative. Using Leganto to find sources for their class can help a faculty member get their course added to the Affordability Counts Program.
