Course Print Reserves are class-related materials selected by faculty via Leganto and/or librarians to support the university’s academic programs.
Course Print Reserve materials may include:
For any Reserve item, Instructors must now use Leganto, which can be found inside their Canvas Course, and where they can build their reading list. Please see the instructions elsewhere in this guide for creating a list.
The default loan period for all print reserve materials will be two hours. If you want a different loan period, you must either contact Leganto@ucf.edu or send a note to the library within Leganto. Once the list is created, books and other items that need to be placed on print reserve will be pulled and sent to the appropriate Reserves Desk (John C. Hitt Library, the CMC, or the Downtown Campus Library). A link inside of Leganto will let students know that there is a copy of the book on the Reserve shelves. Only two copies per title (including various editions) may be placed on reserve.
If you want to add a personal copy (not owned by the library) to Leganto for course reserves, follow the same procedures as adding a library resource as noted above. However, we request that you add a tag stating "Instructor Copy" for that item. You can add a tag by clicking on the title of the item in your list and then clicking on Add Tag:
You can then deliver the book to the appropriate service desk. This would be the service desks at the CMC or Downtown libraries or the Access Services desk in the main library.
